Summer Blacksmithing Camp (Junior: Ages 7-12)

• June 3-7, 2019
• 8 a.m. to noon
• $700

Get an introduction to the history, safety, tools and techniques of this ancient art. Under close supervision, students in this skills-based summer camp will learn how to use smithing tools to create a metal artwork.

Junior smiths will learn all the same creative techniques and procedures as youth and adult students, but will not use forges, which means working with softer metals such as copper.

Each day will focus on a different technique, and students will use that technique to create a metal artwork each day, such as a keychain, bracelet or candleholder.

A responsible adult must be present at the start of the course to sign the junior smiths in, and we ask that drop-off and pick-up times be adhered to. Please drop off no earlier than 7:45 a.m. and pick up no later than 12:15 p.m. (A fee of $75 will be levied for every hour or part thereof that drop-offs/pick-ups occur outside of the 7:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m time frame).

Full course details and important information about clothing, safety, hydration, snacks etc. will be sent to parents/guardians two weeks before the course.
